A Water Issue

At the end or begining of Rosparvah Gardens

So ... why the arch? Just how does this stream get here? I see on the old OS map that there was a pool up behind here. Is it a spring? A very strong flow.

maybe the arch was there because a wall concealed the shoot! the wall had since been removed but the arch remained

I am wondering if this is a case of simply protecting private property from invasion .. marking the boundary? It seems a lot of work for that, good quality granite and nicely worked; perhaps there was once more of a feature? Does anyone remember?
