Visiting hours at the Bolitho Maternity Home - 29July,'78

I was visiting my first-born. Al three offspring can at least say they were actually born in Penzance, and only a matter of a hundred yards or so from the sea!
Worked on this place when it was converted to a maternity home in the 60's and my first born was here in 1980.

Both of ours came into the world at Treliske, then transferred here a few days later. Nattynoo was almost born here, the ambulance called in here first then decided to make the trip to Truro. At one point they I thought we were going to stop in a layby on the bypass. Thankfully missp held on.

Remember visiting rrrrrrrrrrrichie here when he was a newborn!
Now I come here occasionally in the course of work.

I was born in Treliske though, was I moved here for some reason? I always wanted to be born here!

Back in the '60s there was an expectant father complaining as to why these things always happen at night, which the Sister quiped 'because theyre rarely made
by day'.....put him quiet !!

Does anyone born here get entitled to a Sir William Mathews Pension? – does it come into the old town limits?
