Bryher Patch - 26

Standing on Samson Hill - looking northwest.
Below stretches Great Porth, with Pool and then Gweal Hill, centre.
I will get a picture from there another time.
Out in the sea beyond is the island of Gweal, and out further is Scilly Rock.
That is where the SS Isabo came to grief.
Story on Hearts of Oak, with my grandfather's cousin's story - Janie Slaughter.
To the 'right' of Gweal Hill, is Popplestone Neck, a bay that becomes a pool at low tides.

Lovely.

I like the sound of the bay that becomes a pool. Just right for a non-swimming paddler like me, perhaps?

I used to swim and snorkel, but that is no more. This island has such contrasts. Glorious safe bays with very fine near white sand.
And Yet.
