I've often wondered what used to trickle down the middle of these little streets! This is not a scene I've seen before, ! Interesting genre pic for the turn of the 20th Century in Newlyn.
Cottage floors, stone flags, posh ones has slate slabs; rush mats, lifted, or maybe straw if a poor family, the houses were swept out to the front door and a bucket of water thrown out after, swept into the centre gutter.
I've been meaning to reply to this - thought I had - going loopy. This is Fradgan Place; number 8 on the right has the distinctive entrance, the gate at the end leads to Predannack. WhenI first investigated, I found that number 8 was a holiday let, with its own website, and photos of the interior, but I can't find it now. Anyway, you can have a good look at these houses on Google Maps, and see how much has changed.
