I seem to remember the return fare Pz station to Mousehole back in the 50's was just 9d or 3.75 pence in
todays money, the conductors had a small rack for the tickets ranging from 1d to 9d ......
If, as a youth, you were standing in the aisle of a crowded bus and the conductor was squeezing by just as the vehicle went around a corner you tended to get a real close up view of that ticket rack – or the ticket clipper. Another hazard to be on the lookout for were ladies passing along with willow (?) shopping baskets – get a brere old dig from they – take your ear right off.
