Giants hadn't much heart and so that is why it's so small, and they were very hard-hearted and that's why it's of stone. They must have got poor old Cormoran up out of the well he ended up in and have performed an autopsy!
I remember when I was at St. Mary's RC School we had a day trip to St. Michael's Mount to have tea with Lord and Lady St. Levan don't you know! I remember nothing of the tea with the St. Levan's but I do remember the giant's heart on the path on the way up. We were told that if we put our hand on the heart we could feel it beating. Of course what we could feel was our own heart beat but we believed the story!
You know, I think I attended that same tea party and school trip, TG, but personally, I have never forgotten the cream cakes that Lady St Levan made available to us!
