Scillonian (II) with ....
Springfield, original Seahorse(?), original Sapphire, Kingsley, Buccaneer.
brilliant yellow launch as yet unidentified.
Gondolier, Swordfish, Nemo, Kingsley, Springfield, Lady of Laguna.
Lined up c1965-1970.
The yellow launch was referred to as the Banana Boat. I think it was run by Maurice (?) Guy. What keeps coming to mind as to her proper name is Southern Queen. I have compared it with Island Traffic - 34 and - maybe. What do you think?
The Springfield in the mid sixties was fitted out for fishing, adapted to do short trawls between the Islands. My guess is that the outside white launch is the Vanguard - although the stern differs from Island Traffic 27
Looks very likely that the banana boat (a not unsurprising nickname) was the Southern Queen,
one way of catching the punters eyes, I suppose.
It would take considerable cost and skill to have reduced the stern of Vanguard to that as shown here.
I take your point, it cannot be Springfield in this picture - and looking closely at the gun le markings, it confirms that it is not her.
