RNLI Display off the Promenade

RNLI show at the prom
Solomon Browne; possibly around her first year in 1960, as the Westland Wessex continued to be built until around 1962.

@Treeve...possibly late 70's she has her self-righting
capabilities which were included in a refit around 1976...
the after hatch was also enclosed giving more cabin space.

Extraordinary. I have in my 'lifeboats' album a photograph taken within minutes of this one. At least it is Solomon Browne exercising with the same helicopter and with three similar dinghies in view.

No, I meant one of my PPz albums. It is one of a series of that exercise taken by my father.

I see .... I note the same ship on the Newlyn Pier is exactly the same and the sea conditions exactly the same. Same place, same event, same time. And yours is in colour.

I recognised the scene immediately. I expect there were several people photographing such a demonstration.
