Was that the same Juan Ferrer that fell foul of Lands End rocks a few years later? The one made famous because the crew were seen still alive in the wheelhouse and were rescued by helicopter?

I have been looking into that, but no confirmation yet.

Juan Ferrer went aground at Tater Dhu in 1963 prompting the building of the lighthouse. (Don t know if it was the same vessel as named above)
I think perhaps you are thinking of the Jeanne Gougy which went ashore at LAnds End in 1962 where there was a dramatic rescue.

Yes it is My grandfather died in the Juan Ferrer sunk in 1963 and in one of his letters sent to my grandmother he described the Sheila tow.
