At the moment they re doing the re-pointing of the west walls of the castle. It s a pity for those visiting but necessary that this work is carried out once the ravaging storms of winter are over. It s a big job and it was the south section last season. The flowering agave plant didn t have such a beautiful backdrop with all the scaffolding.
This North Terrace was the most intense work; the slabs had to be precision cut before it was delivered and taken up; there was no way in which the stone could be cut on site; it had to fit. There was none broken, none wasted.
