Chysauster was a Romano-British settlement, primarily of a farming people who often kept livestock within their homes or in adjoining rooms.

Wise of English Heritage to use a modicum of Cornish. At least it avoids unpleasant daubs of white on black maybe! They are right that Chysauster is a corruption of 'Chi Sylvester' (House [of] Sylvester).
