View attachment 215A man has been arrested on the Isles of Scilly on suspicion of arson following a fire last night.
Police were called by fire control at around 11.15pm on Thursday 141010 after a flat was on fire in Hughtown, St Mary’s.
A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene by officers on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and will be taken to the mainland this morning.
Fire crews had the fire under control and all people in the flat, containing five people, was safely evacuated. No-one was harmed during the incident.
Officers continue to investigate the incident.
