Pokerboy I know sends his regards...and also humble apoligies...as he couldn't make it to your gig I believe it was the 4th July ( I maybe wrong) but he was promoted at work..and as always (a new promotion change of hours)
sadly he couldn't make it...

This is where you SHOULD be plugging your next gig....!!
always love to hear where LOCAL bands etc are playing...its up to the members if they attend or not...
I know this website may not be known to all...but it is growing very fast....and word of mouth is by no means the best advertising around.

No problem and thanks for the reply, no need for the apologies either, if everyone came to a gig that said they would we would have a full house each time. We just want as many people to enjoy what we do as possible.

Here IS a blast from the past. Just found the re-issue of Sounds Incorporated first album (1964). POW!! Unique band, although there were a few others at that time with similar aspirations they were 'one-hit-wonders'. If you have never heard them your audio cognisance receptors are truly missing something badly. Punching, rhythms, powerful sounds, exploring classical, jazz, rock, cool. To be honest, I wondered if it would be a glossy memory, but they are as fresh and full of life as ever. Blows your sawks awff, matey.

Was listening to a bit of Judas Priest last night. 'Beyond the Realms of Death' (live version obviously) is a classic song. It's this type of song I like in particular - slow start, builds in the middle and then completely rocks out at the end - yeah!

'Freebird' is another, and of course, 'Comfortably Numb' (live, not studio) is unbeatable, as another two examples.

Anyone got any suggestions that follow this theme they'd like to recommend? Proper rock or metal - no cheesy mock rock ballads please!

Tubular Bells - good album, but not heavy enough for what I'm after.

I'll also throw in Iron Maiden's 'The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner' as another example.
