Volunteers are needed this summer to help Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Wild Penwith project to gather information on Cornish hedges.
Jan Dinsdale, Wild Penwith project officer, said: “If you have an interest in wildlife, love the outdoors and want to have the chance to learn new skills and contribute to this important survey, then we need your help.”
“We are looking for committed volunteers to spend an afternoon a week from May to September. Anyone can get involved – no experience is necessary to carry out the surveys – but we are also keen to hear from keen botanists and entomologists to help collect additional records for the project in collaboration with Cambridge University.”
The Wild Penwith project will run hedge survey training days in early June for all volunteers. To find out more please come along to our ‘getting started’ day on 21 May at Sancreed Village Hall. To book call Jan Dinsdale on 07779 457410 or email janet.dinsdale@cornwallwildlifetrust.co.uk.
