First attempt at gate making - made from recycled wood and then the bolt, etc all came from the old one. Estimated cost - 20p for a few nails and screws. I am well chuffed.
You see, when a man does something like this, people should be standing looking at it, talking about it, drinking beer and eating BBQ, it should be a celebration of mans work!!!
Quite right, Chris! My wife was actually quite bowled over when she saw it, saying "It's brilliant - I can't believe you were able to make one." I think that was a back-handed compliment ... lol
