Way to the English Heritage site which contains Faugen Round, believed to be an Iron-Age bi-vallate hill fort (meaning two ditches). It is believed to have been built between 500 BC and 0AD. The two outer walls can still be seen; these would have formed the rampart defences of an historic village ma
I always thought it was 'Faugan' as with Faugan Lane at the top of Chywoone Hill, but this was how it was spelt by English Heritage on their board.
