hi i am collecting photos of ships owned by Watts Watts and co, Britains Steamship co , can anyone help, any costs will be reimbursed, any ship they owned is of interest, my father , and myself worked on these ships also my brother, also any tankers that they managed for gulf oil co, 2 photos of special interest are SS FORT AUGUSTUS , SS FORT GASPEREAU, both managed for MOWT by them in ww2, thanks TONY WILDING
 
On this issue I think Treeve may be the one to help you, either wait for a reply or you can PM him.

As Symons 55 said treeve is your man but is quite a busy chap.... always busy, busy, busy :)

Another suggestion is ships nostalgia have you tried them?
 
Hello seadog7039, I will have a look for you, do you have a website?
Have you compiled a fleet list? Have you compiled a management list?
Do you know if the MOWT vessels were ex Empire or captured vessels, or even reparations vessels? I can check that out anyway, but wondered if you knew.

hi and good evening, my fleet list is taken from the book travels of the tramps vol 2, not very accurate, lots missing, WW2 managed ships were ss fort augustus and fort gaspereau, both canadian fort class , ss samoland a liberty ship, ocean messenger a usa built ocean class, same as fort but welded, and oil fired, ss empire harteebeeste ex ww1 usa tonnage empire fusilier ex confiscated italian, empire kudu, medee ex french ship, there are more managed ones in ww2 but i am at work , dont have my records here, 2 more french ones, and 2 more empires, they go back a long way , to 1700 and something, was watts ward, then watts millburn who formed port line, then in 1880s watts watts, also britains steamship co lt, alexandria navigation co egyptian flag, queenship nav co , coasters, managed ships for federal commerce of montreal canada and gulf oil tankers, , was going to publish a photo history, but too many problems with copyright laws, so its just a personal history record now, if u can help it will be appreciated, tony wilding ,

Thanks for the additional ... I will see what I have / can suggest - do you have ONs for any, can search National Records easier that way. But can manage with names on occasion. Only too often I have found that elusive picture under a former/later owner.
 
Got your email through PP admin; as you confirm, a later vessel; have you joined Ships Nostalgia? Will carry on looking, in between other projects.
