Albert Street Toilets

Well here they are. The insides of the toilet block on Albert Street.
The new owner has already started work on the demolition of the block and by the time he has finished the block will be one room.
He has very kindly offered us his snaps taken before and during the work for us to see the build through its stages.
The shell and frontage of the building will remain the same as far as we know.
For many years the old toilet block was used as a doss and the new owner had to spend some time clearing out the rubbish.
Here you can see that the dividing wall has been mostly removed. On the right was the women's and the left the men's. I would have taken some pictures of the graffiti, but I don't think it would be appropriate for this site.

Ah, can't say, denanmor. I've been asked to keep the business idea a secret. That said the developer is a really nice guy and wants to get the community involved. So it's a case of waiting I'm afraid.
More pictures coming soon.

A clue may come from the National Trust truck and trailer parked outside earlier this evening removing rubbish?
