Albert Terrace

Built c 1868 by Perkins, Caldwell and Caldwell; just below is Victoria Square, occupying the space left by the town quarry.
Buiding stone ... you can still see the upper peak of the outcrop in the lane at the base of the stone wall. This was quite a source of good building stone for a while. Then once the area had been exhausted up to the limits of the older buildings, it closed, the Caldwells then developed it.
