Bay View Terrace July 1928

In Betty Ludlows picture collection - not sure of the womens name but she is very elegant! July 1928.
Lovely woman - with something rarely seen in this time - a smile.
I spent half an hour people watching the other day - I saw two smiling faces out of over two hundred.
 
Agree - The pace of life is faster today - doesn t necessarily make people happier
 
... one of my all time favourites ...
I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me down
It s gonna be a bright bright bright bright sun shiny day ....
 
Don t most people smile for photos?! In fact in the early days of photography most people didn t, giving the impression that the Victorians were a surly bunch. :)
 
I mean a smile that comes from the heart - it shines in the eyes and the whole face glows. As far as Victorian set pictures were concerned, that was a combination of two factors - the camera required a fixed expression and smiles were hard to keep steady, the other is that they had pride and dignity.
