Boscathnoe

Standing beside the churchway from Boscathnoe Lane to Madron.
Dating of Crosses is an elaborate subject, they date between 600 AD and 900 AD, some clues may be offered by design or motif as the a more specific date, many designs point to the origins of the people who made it and set it up. This is a very early cross.

I read that this cross has been moved a bit in recent years. It must have been since about 1983 as I have a picture of my middle son tiddling next to it as a toddler and it was definitely at a different angle. Nice pics here, BoP, but I wouldn t like to cross you! ::15:

There is a book of antiquity that describes all of the Cornish Crosses, which I have been attempting to get for years. I referred to a private copy 10 years ago concerning North Cornwall crosses.

What have you got to grouse about. That one is for trepolpen, that is if I have the right meaning for grouse in Cornish.
