From South Quay infill; 10th May 2009
These are like no other set of quayside steps that I have seen. They must have a specific purpose, my guess is perhaps for barrels on and off the ship at high tide (the height of the bottom step). Any ideas? Have you seen the like anywhere else?
There was an office building to the left (only the front step remains).
Clearly ships moored at this quay (which includes parts of the old 18th century quay)
