'CEAOB' Vessel - In the bay, April, 2004

This photograph was taken by my daughter, S. Brown, from on board the Scillonian on leaving Penzance and off Newlyn/Mousehole. I believe it was a training ship for young would-be sailors and navigators but I don't know. It is certainly a fine vessel.

Built 1921 by Krupp Germania Werft, Kiel. Yard Nr 372.

329 x 48.2 x 26.7 feet; 3,476 grt; 3.017 nrt.
Rigged double topgallant sails and royals sails.
1936 Norddeutscher Lloyd, Bremen; named Kommodore Johnsen; sail training ship.
May 1945 as part of war reparations, had been seized and delivered to the Soviet-Union.
Renamed Sedov. Sail training ship.
Laid up at Kronstadt 1976-1980.

Raymond Forward
That s a good picture of the Sedov, Russian training ship. Cyrillic letters as named. C=S, the triangle like the greek delta=D, and B=V. Plenty of information on her on Wiki, but there is a better write up on Russian websites. I have added above some details from notes that I have.
