Same here I remember the blast in assembly from Mr Cock on taking over and on the odd occasion had the 'requirement' for him to 'dust the seat of my pants'. I'll always remember the phrases he used. 'Get the chair' 'Heads will roll' 'wretched fellow/ spineless creature' etc. Having said that he was a top bloke and always spoke when we passed in town or made me welcome when I visited the school on leave.
