I remember a few years back, it was raging hot in Penzance, the sun was cracking the hedges, we decided to go for a trip to Pendeen Watch; we arrived at St Just, and it was just like this. We got to Pendeen Watch and it was like a bag ... just about visibility 4 feet.. We followed the tarmac, basically.
Pity me then treeve. Lived in Pendeen parish; went to school in Penzance. Countless times on a brilliant afternoon the school bus would reach the top of Morvah Carn and there before us was .... nothing. For decades after moving away I could still reproduce the 20 second interval of Pendeen foghorn to the millisecond.
yes the fog, it was always awful, the humidity doesn t help. you tend to forget about it til you have a trip home, then it hits you ha ha. I knew this summer wasn t good, but these photos shows how bad it was. We re in spring here after a cold winter and so looking forward to the warm days.
