It is also the current trend for youngsters to simply jump off their bikes, and leave the bikes straddled across the pavement.
a)complete disregard for other people b) complete disregard for the price of the bike and c) complete disrespect for the person that paid for it.
Twice now, I have come across bikes right across the walkway, so, rather than step out into the road and the traffic, I simply walked right on the bike, as I have an inalienable right of way along that pavement. I can be Bolshy as well.

I was informed by a police office a number of years ago that pavement rights of way included anything placed or left on that pavement, provided no damage is done, we have a right of way over that pavement. I wear soft soled shoes. Maybe the owners are unaware of Obstruction. One of the groups just looked at me with the usual vacant expression as I stopped rather expecting them to say sorry and move their trash; but no, so I walked on. Besides that, there is the matter of direct proof of specific damage.
