Today work started on the old Kasbar premises. The windows have been blanked but I can reveal that the new shop will be called Alverton Gallery . I'm assuming it will be yet another artist gallery... Whoopee!
I do however have a question about this shop. It used to be Humphrey's I think, then Micks fish restaurant and then Kasbar. Each had a license to sell alcohol because they sold food... So if this shop is now to be a gallery then isn't that a change of use to a retail outlet. And should there be a formal application for change of use. Did anyone else see planning permission posted up for this?
