Wheal Rodney

Located just off the Marazion bypass, at the start of a track leading onto Gwallon Lane. I haven't been able to discover anything about this cross, though I suspect it's relatively modern.
A little elaborate I d have thought and not situated in a place which would entirely tally with that theory, but I don t suppose it s beyond the realm of possibility...

One thing that strikes me about it is that the cross itself is the same face as the main stone, it having been scalloped inwards to form the relief; older crosses are formed by total sculpting out of the solid; relief was formed by layered sculpting; also the circle head does not tally with the cross in that form - I reckon this is modern and has been simplified to reduce labour, another modern lazy trait.
