You make it sound as though the school only had the one teacher, treeve! Was she headteacher, perhaps?

I gather that she lived a long life and was known for remembering 'her girls' by name, well after retirement. I take your meaning , but ...... My wife used to speak extremely highly of her, more so than any other.

Just remembered .. she was also a Cellist in The Penzance Orchestral Society

I remember Miss Tranter she taught at the school when I was there, I was not in one of her classes but I do remember she was well liked.
