The railway passes over this bridge and the river from the Coombe, Treneere passes under it as well as the waves at high tide, though in different directions.
This was our way to get onto the beach when we were kids and then sunbathe on the rocks - if the tide was in of course, otherwise we had to walk out to the signal box crossing which is where the bridge is now.
As kids we use to run down that tunnel in a storm waiting for the really big waves to hit, just before they hit the tunnel we would run back up it to beat the waves. Nobody ever slipped. hell how any of us ever lived to be adults is amazing!
