Groynes were to prevent the loss of sand, with the decay of the timber and the building of the pool, currents changed, granite dumped from the quarry was washed in, and so we have shingle. But, I see sand is returning and the seaweed is growing again, which is really good. The lower level of granite walkway was a landing level for pleasure boats, some steamed in from Falmouth.
