You have to laugh when one dauber correctly writes 'SURVEILLANCE' and another who has him 'under surveillance' mistakenly thinks he is correcting a mispelling! This was spotted in the passage off the bottom of Causewayhead leading to the car park beyond.
If somebody were to smash the dauber s windows or scribe on his belongings, he/she might be pleased if there was a bit of surveillance. I would have nothing against it if only it worked in favour of a more pleasant way of life in Penzance and was a deterrent to the malicious. I m unsure as to how effective it is when some soulless members of society seem so reckless and devil-may-care.
It is like all the nonsense of objections about breaching Civil Liberties - we have Civil Liberties not to be confronted by halfwits and their vandalism. If they have problems, either see a counsellor, or write to the newspaper. Or become a Councillor, assuming they knew the difference, without another idiot trying to correct them
