In 2000, the Plain-an-Gwarry, St Just, was scene of the modern re-enactment of 'The Creation of the World' ('Gwryans an Bys), one of a three-cycle miracle play from the mediaeval Cornish-speaking past. The Plain-an-Gwarry or 'Playing place' was laid out for this purpose in those bygone centuries.
