A visitor thought it was disgraceful that the NT had not got its masons on the job to make these steps safer for him and his wife. As I told him, pilgrims have used these steps for hundreds of years and they are protected. The Trust can not tamper with them and, in any case, there are ample warnings given for those who may have trouble climbing.
Quite Right - Humans (or most of us) are Blessed with Common Sense and a degree of Self Preservation and so do not need to be pampered by signs and labels or instructed as to how to do things.
