Woolpack Battery.
Woolpack Point is named after a nearby sea rock; here amongst the flowers, the stonechats, starlings, butterflies and bees, with the sea glistening below is a well defended battery of gun. It had a magazine and was defended with 11 long guns x 9lb. in 1850 this was surveyed to be 4 x 32lb, 4 x 18lb on wooden carriages. The present day guns will be shown in a separate album.
