Built 1887, by High Street Bible Christian Chapel.

Architect H White; Builder J Dustow; sub-contracting Carpenter Mr Leggo of Madron.
The contract included the adjoining Minister's residence in Tolver Road.
The design was said to be in the Gothic Style.
The Foundation Stone was laid Friday afternoon 10th September 1886;
The masonry used was Downs stone supplied and prepared by Messrs Freeman and Co..
It is 38ft x 48ft and 25ft high, and was for use by 400 pupils.
Total cost £1,200, and the schoolroom itself was £700.
In all their were five foundation stones laid. By Mr White on behalf of Mayor Wellington Dale,
by Mrs B Eddy of Porthleven, by Miss Edith Polglase of Treneere,
by Mr J N Russell, and by Mr W Tancock of Adelaide in Australia.
The School was opened on Friday afternoon 3rd June 1887.
