Victoria Square, Penzance

The old Caldwell Workshops
Built off Bread Street in the old town quarry by Caldwell and Caldwell around 1868. Nr 18 was James Caldwell's house, and the workshops were to the rear, facing on to the square; they have now been converted into houses to match the rest of the square. James' father Coastguard William Caldwell lived at Nr 2 Victoria Square. By 1891, James senior had moved to Albert Terrace and his son Oliver Caldwell had moved to Morrab Terrace, a terrace designed by James senior.
Good to see this corner of Penzance recorded here on PicturePenzance. It s quite tucked away!
