Thirty years ago this tree was half its present height; I am not at all sure as to his fate (it is a male tree as far as I am aware), as is still only two thirds of its normal height when mature.

It must be over ten years since I last walked past this way. Good to see the tree still flourishing disguised as a border plant.

One thing in its favour is that it has already spread outwards, a sign of stability and of a slowing in vertical growth.
