My wife and I used to go out, whatever the weather, early or late, it is truly amazing what can be seen when Nature glows or rages. I am gradually getting that back, I was out checking the ships and harbour, and noticed the glow in the sky - ran around to the Pool, and there it was, I then ran down to the end of Battery Rocks to get the light over the sea. Oh my it was worth it.
