Chapel Street - 86

Union Hotel
July 2009
Is this a reasonable representation of the original colour scheme, or were those colours on offer that week?

There was not an original colour scheme, the board states it is the original building but it is not, though a great deal of the fabric remains, this frontage was new in the sight of Courtney c1850; I have already uploaded the picture from 1897; my uncle states it held the same colour scheme until he became a painter, which was in the 1920s, and that was a deep blue columns and features, with cream walls. The board also claims some think it was the manor house of the district (here is one that does not). I am trying to track down more detail as I go along. Bear with me ... The colours are as now, and I am rather displeased with them, even though the frontage is c1850.

I see the brackets and floodlights on the roof I put up about 15yrs ago are still there. read#
