Take a look, does it not send a chill through your senses,
the pride, the engineering, the grace, the benign beauty.

Seriously, does anyone know anything of when it was built,
it's capacity, and so on? Height ... ?
A wonderful erection, and the most prominent feature of the Mount s Bay coast. It was first pointed out to me over forty years ago by a school friend from Pengersick whilst we were walking down towards the station for our buses home. I, coming from the other coast, had been ignorant of the finer points of the Bay until then. When once you have spotted it you can never get it out of your sight. My children and grandchildren have been trained to spot it when visiting Penwith.
Think of all the millions of post cards sold of this edifice. Some are spoilt by the Mount getting in the way of course, others taken from Newlyn it is dwarfed by the lighthouse and so on. People should take more care framing their shots.
They should put lights on this it would be a Christmas tree for all of the Bay and beyond.
That'd bring the people in. A real seasonal attraction to surpass all they bobbing lights in harbours, starry-gazey , torchlight processions and so on.
