Newlyn - Keel Alley

In 1972, from the old ice works corner.
When did this get filled in? I have a vague memory of the area before it was made nice, but I am not sure I actually remember it like this. Anyway, click here to see a comparison shot with how this looks now.
 
The new central pier, ice plant, alterations to the market and the garden were formed the next year from these pictures, I think. There is a date plaque on a wall somewhere, I think it is on the column near the RNLI building, there are old anchors that I have featured near it.
 
I remember my cousin fooling about and fell in there; stagged in mud he was.Too filthy to go on the bus had to walk all the way home to Mousehole to get him cleaned up. Come to think of it, I was 15 months old when we left Mousehole. OK, I remember being told about...
