The car had not worked since 1915, was restored from 1988. Has been working eversince, with the usual amount of cost and loving care invested ... however, I cannot imagine anyone would imagine doing the same thing with a present design in half a century ... unless someone invents a vehicle that runs on anti-gravity force, etc ....
Dr.Dyke, well known for his steam cars, there was one featured on TV a few years ago and rebuilt, Suggs was the front man. Dr.Dyke lives in the farm once owned by my Grandfather, and was where my Mother was born, and I spent many happy years there.
@ treeve there was an auction recently for a 1983 Ford Escort that had been placed in a time capsule (these are used to keep vehicles in their original condition)... anyway, it had 3 miles on the clock and never been taxed or M.O.T'd it sold for £100k+
@ HH evidently there is a large building specificaly designed somewhere up north with 1st generation models of all cars shrink wrapped and kept in a controlled environment. I'd just love to see them!
