The bright shining new outfall. The diggers spent ages shaping the shingle into the appropriate form. The stream flows freely down to the sea. For now .....
My direct interest is in the esplanade/promenade sea wall, and so I have a number of photographs of the profile of the beach. I have just found an etching of 1842 just prior to the proper formation of the first sea wall in 1843, but it shows a different picture than had been described previouly.
I am collecting together a series of pictures to show the front and its development - they will all go up as a set in the near future.
