Here we have a lucky fact in that it was taken in the year that an Ordnance Survey map was produced.

Behind the two carts can be seen a row of low cottages, later to become demolished and The Winter Gardens with Terrace Restaurant built [viz]; rising above those is Alexandra Terrace.
On The Esplanade opposite the end of Cornwall Terrace are the Public Baths[viz]. The area obscured by the baths was known as Western Green' to the left is The Coastguard Station[viz].
Lots of manure to be had for the taking.
Morrab Road had not yet been cut through, but there was a lane just at the side of Mount's Bay Hotel, which only went as far as South Place (Folly).
