Bolitho Gardens, 1922

Cowell, Drewitt and Wheatly were working on the plan for Lidden Estate in 1922.
This estate was Mr Reginald Wheatly's project, but the houses were mostly to designs by Frederick Drewitt.
Note the route of the seafront path, well behind the line of the old seawall that had been lost.
One of the sketch plans included the original layout of the Bolitho Gardens.

I will try and scan the 1875 OS, but it is rather delicate. I will also upload the 1936 OS.
I have a 1786 map as well - I will have a go at uploading some of that.
There used to be a grass bank and palm tree s on the seaward side of the footpath....

I was winding you up .... If you look at the 1936 OS that should give a better idea.

read# I remember the last expance of grass was at the Wherrytown end with patches along the way towards Newlyn and again at Tolcarne..

I have not shown you the whole plan - the Estate was to continue right up to the Trereife road, all over the fields to the west of Bluebell Dell. I avoid naming the client of this project.
