James' Music Shop

James' Music shop, a very bad loss to the town when it closed. Any sheet music, and record, they had it; none of this I can order it for you sir complete with blank look hiding thoughts why on earth does he want that? ; Mr James was there pretty well most of the time, and he knew exactly what was wanted, classical or rock'n'roll and he had it there in the shop; I never saw him without a smile. The shop was usually crowded.
The toilets would make another good set of photos, What happend with the toilets under Davey s statue did they fill it in or just seal it off? that would have made another good set.

I have pictures of the exterior of Albert Street loos with the JH Bennetts buildings, and trepolpen has pictures of the Terrace loos being converted into the latest water feature in Penzance.

I still think that there is a lack of loos in the town and closing down the old ones is not the answer, what happend to recycle or refurb?? they could still be of use.

Jennings Street (repaired) and opposite Municipal Buildings (thoroughly modernised), Wherrytown (repaired), Penlee House (top rate but not always open) and Bus Station and Railway Station. I think that is it. Add Harbour South Pier.

True, forgot those, I keep thinking of the ones in the town centre. Your right many are still re-furbed and in use.

Wasn't Mr Pooley Mayor of Penzance at one time?? I had forgotten about the Smith's book store on the corner by the station! I can see it in my mind's eye now!
