Old King Coal

J H Bennetts buildings c1975. The Pram (for posh readers that is Perambulator) Shop at the top of the hill. Note the Public Lavatories to the right, a term which rather dates them as being old.
Treeve, are you sure about the date of this photograph. I date it about 1975 not 1968. The Car on the left is a Renault 5 series and wasn't produced until 1972, but also it has the additional reverse lamp and although that was common place on the series 5 mark one (that ran production between 1972 and 1985) in 1975 the reverse lamp was introduced to meet European changing specifications, so prior to 1975 this would have been missing from the Renault.

I know nothing of cars, I bow to your knowledge. The photograph was with a series of others of that date. We did various internal works at JHB, it must have been the last one .. so, 1975 it is.

Yeah, that's ok. I remember this particular model because it reminded me of futuristic fairground dodgems. However the inertia was so horrid I was sure that they wouldn't sell.
