Longships by William Daniell 1824

To be frank, this took guts to do.
He set out on his voyage around Britain in such a boat as you see. I am minded to give his description of the sea from this point, as there have been suggestions that some would like to know what it is like.
 
Set on Carn Bras, the name given in 1791 was Carnvroaz. Before then the rocks were known collectively as Long Ships. This does not refer to 'Viking longships' an English term. 'Longs Schip' appears on a Dutch map of 1588. Another name given appears to be Breland Islands.
