Originally opened as Bog Mine (a rather telling name) c1790 until 1798; secondly it operated 1833.
Besides working silver, Tin, Copper and quartz, it produced much vital geological information as to the composition of the Bay, raised beaches, drifts, ancient vegetable matter below ground. There were also a number of fatalities.
